The topic of the second edition of the CASE Summer School on Applied Software Engineering is Empirical Analysis of Software Processes and Products. The Summer School welcomes current and prospective PhD students who want to get a solid knowledge doubled by hands-on experience in hot topics in software engineering. A solid background in computer science is indispensable for participants.

The speakers are internationally recognized experts (both from academia and from industry). The format of the school consists in lectures followed by discussion and lab sessions.

The Summer School strives to offer a truly international environment with speakers and participants from all around the world. To offer equal opportunities to all students, the Summer School supports admitted participants with the costs of registration fee, boarding, and accommodation. Depending on each individual case, limited grants to cover the travel costs are also available. To ensure the high-quality of training offered and a great interaction between all participants and the speakers, the CASE Summer School can award participation only to a limited number of applicants.

This year the school will be held from 19th to 23rd of July 2010 in the charming town of Bolzano/Bozen, in the Dolomites.

This year's topic will be Empirical Analysis of Software Processes and Products. The participants will learn from internationally recognized experts the principles of modern empirical evaluation and analysis in the software engineering field and they will be able to apply them during labs sessions where the experts will be available for individual discussions.
